| The Roseau County Historical Society began a military history file several years ago. One of the areas included in the file is autobiographies or biographies from servicemen or their family members giving a history of their enlisted service. If you have any photographs that were taken during the time of service, that would also be greatly appreciated.
During the March Women's History Month 2010 the Roseau County
Historical Society will honor the women who have or are serving
in the military. Please encourage any woman who has ever lived
in the county to complete the form that is available on line and
submit it to the society. If the woman is deceased, a family
member or acquaintance can compete the form to the best of there
ability. Photos and artifacts are greatly appreciated.
Some of the items we have received from the WWII era, include Victory mail (v-mail), letters to family and friends, Christmas and other holiday, plus anniversary cards. These items offer an excellent example of how our courageous soldiers handled being at war away from family and friends.
We are interested in receiving information on former or present service personnel.
A
military information form in a pdf and a Word
doc format, plus a
release form allowing us to use your information in
exhibits, publications (such as newspaper articles and/or a
book) are available on line.
Please fill them in and
return it to the Roseau County Historical Society, 121 Center St. E, Suite 101, Roseau, MN 56751.
If you have any questions contact the museum at 218-463-1918.
Your help with this project is greatly appreciated. Thank you for assisting
the society as it collects this Roseau County history project
information.
