The Roseau County Historical Society was organized in April 1927 with the intent of collecting, preserving and disseminating the history of Roseau County, Minnesota.  The Historical Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization. The organization displays artifacts from the present and the past that represent the history of the county as well as hosts traveling exhibits at the museum. The Historical Society also has an extensive research center.

The Roseau County Historical Society is funded by a county allocation, memberships, donations, research, and an annual fund drive. Membership entitles you to many things and you become a vital part of the society's success.

Women's History Month 2010 will focus on One Woman and Women in Military. The historical society would like your help with this project. To nominate a one woman candidate, contact your city council or township board members. If you know of a Roseau County woman who has served in the United States military at any time, contact the museum at rchsroseu@mncable.net or print the service form and release form, then submit them to the address on the left. Photographs would be appreciated. They can be email in a 600 dpi resolution or send with the form. All photographs will be returned.

Other exhibits include One Woman, Women in Education, immigration, Marvin Windows  military, local Ojibwa, and natural history, including the P.O. Fryklund egg collection.

Watch for our upcoming events.
