The Roseau County Historical Society was organized in April 1927 with the intent of collecting, preserving and disseminating the history of Roseau County, Minnesota.  The Historical Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization. The organization displays artifacts from the present and the past that represent the history of the county as well as hosts traveling exhibits at the museum. The Historical Society also has an extensive research center for more information

The Roseau County Historical Society is funded by a county allocation, memberships, donations, research, and an annual fund drive. Membership entitles you to many things and you become a vital part of the society's success.

March was Women in History Month and the museum opened exhibits honoring eighteen county women chosen by Roseau County cities and townships for contributions they have made to their local communities. These exhibits plus several Women in Education displays honoring teachers, cooks, custodians, bus drivers, nurses, paraprofessionals, librarians, coaches, clerical, school board members, and administrators who have worked with the students of our county will be displayed through the summer. This exhibit will be displayed through summer 2009.

Other exhibits include immigration, Marvin Windows  military, local Ojibwe, and natural history, including the P.O. Fryklund egg collection..

Watch for our upcoming events.
